Ok Ok here it goes. I know you have all been beaten to death with news about Windows 7 and every one's opinion on it. In fact it's getting as bad as all the new on MJ. I figure it's about time that I throw my two cents worth into the pool like everyone else. So here we go.
Windows 7, what is so great about this "new" OS anyway? Basically it boils down to this; Windows 7 is what Vista was suppose to be but never was. Microsoft has always learned a lot from their past mistakes when it comes to operating systems, but never really act on those lessons learned. Take for example the multiple "flavors" of the new OS. Do we really need 4 versions of the same thing? Clearly not everyone needs the same thing in their OS as the guy sitting next to them. But why charge more for the same product? All Microsoft is doing in the lower end versions is turning certain features off. This can be a good thing, but it doesn't cost them any more to produce any of these versions, so why should we pay more to acquire them? Ok enough about this downfall. Next topic.
Will Windows 7 solve many issues that Vista brought to the market? The answer is simple; yes and no. Ok maybe not simple but it's true, it will most likely solve some issues that Vista had (that are most likely already solved through released patches) but it will also bring it's own slue of problems too. There will definitely be driver conflicts and software conflicts. This is a given with any new OS. It is hard to say exactly what other issues will arise, but know this, within days of it's official release, there will be plenty of chatter about all the problems.
So I'm sure I haven't said much of anything that anyone else has said on this subject, but I had to finally chime in. To answer the question, "should I buy Windows 7 when it comes out?" My answer to this anytime a new OS is released is no way! Wait for the first service pack to come out. This will help solve many of the initial problems and make the OS more stable. There will always be bugs, but give it time for the major ones to worked out.
Do you agree or disagree with any of this? Have an opinion? Share it with me.
