In the world of business, so many mentors and others have told me that the way that one dresses and looks is pertinent to how successful one is. I started to fall into this way of thinking and converted myself to look more "business like." I do agree to a point that the way the someone portrays themselves and dresses is very important. I mean come on, who would buy anything from someone that smells bad, has shabby clothing, and cusses like a sailor? I have also been told that when it comes to being a business man that you cannot blend in. Make the customer remember you. This could be done with customer service, but can also be done with appearances as well. I have decided to take both of these to a bit of an extreme some may say. Me; I think I just like to think outside of the proverbial box when it comes to business.
I don't dress in three piece suites (anymore), I don't have the business man's haircut, and I don't treat the customer like a number. For those of you that know me and know what I look like you can fully understand this. I have long hair, tattoos and piercings. Does this make just another punk thug? In mine and my customers opinion, absolutely not! I don't portray your everyday computer geek or nerd. I also don't come off as an arrogant computer specialist as some in my industry do all too often. This is an industry where people feel that they have to be superior to others when it comes to what they know and how well they know it. When did being in business become being all about yourself? Being in business is all about serving the customer and providing them with something of value that they will tell everyone they know about.
So I don't look all business like. Who cares. I do my job and I do it well. My customers needs come first and they see this. So to all who decided to judge a book by its cover, think again. You never know what that person with all the tattoos and long hair is capable of. They may turn out to be one of the nicest most dependable people you have ever met. So to this I say; looks can indeed be deceiving. Enjoy your day, be happy, and be prosperous.

Windows 7
Ok Ok here it goes. I know you have all been beaten to death with news about Windows 7 and every one's opinion on it. In fact it's getting as bad as all the new on MJ. I figure it's about time that I throw my two cents worth into the pool like everyone else. So here we go.
Windows 7, what is so great about this "new" OS anyway? Basically it boils down to this; Windows 7 is what Vista was suppose to be but never was. Microsoft has always learned a lot from their past mistakes when it comes to operating systems, but never really act on those lessons learned. Take for example the multiple "flavors" of the new OS. Do we really need 4 versions of the same thing? Clearly not everyone needs the same thing in their OS as the guy sitting next to them. But why charge more for the same product? All Microsoft is doing in the lower end versions is turning certain features off. This can be a good thing, but it doesn't cost them any more to produce any of these versions, so why should we pay more to acquire them? Ok enough about this downfall. Next topic.
Will Windows 7 solve many issues that Vista brought to the market? The answer is simple; yes and no. Ok maybe not simple but it's true, it will most likely solve some issues that Vista had (that are most likely already solved through released patches) but it will also bring it's own slue of problems too. There will definitely be driver conflicts and software conflicts. This is a given with any new OS. It is hard to say exactly what other issues will arise, but know this, within days of it's official release, there will be plenty of chatter about all the problems.
So I'm sure I haven't said much of anything that anyone else has said on this subject, but I had to finally chime in. To answer the question, "should I buy Windows 7 when it comes out?" My answer to this anytime a new OS is released is no way! Wait for the first service pack to come out. This will help solve many of the initial problems and make the OS more stable. There will always be bugs, but give it time for the major ones to worked out.
Do you agree or disagree with any of this? Have an opinion? Share it with me.

How do I stop getting viruses?
People ask me this question day in and day out it seems. The answer isn't always simple. But there are some things that you can do on a regular basis to improve your chances of stopping viruses before they infect your PC. The first and most important thing is ANTI VIRUS SOFTWARE. I can never stress this enough. If you do not have an anti virus program then you might as well be asking to get infected. The key with anti virus is to make sure that it is always up to date, and set scheduled times for it to scan your computer. The best time to have it do this is at night due to the fact that it can take quite awhile to complete. The next thing is make sure that Windows has the latest updates installed. Your computer should be set up to download these automatically, but be sure to visit the Microsoft Update web page from time to time. Other than these 2 steps, be careful with where and what you are doing on the Internet. The Internet is a lot like the real world now, there are some pretty dangerous places out there and you never know what may be lurking in the shadows. Questions? Comments? Let me know and have a GREAT day!
